Our websites are well under way. The students learned that websites are written in HTML and that if you don't know HTML, you need a program that can "translate" to HTML for you. A program such as Dreamweaver or Microsoft Publisher can do that for you. Since we have licenses for Publisher, we'll be using Publisher for our business websites. Most students already have the following pages: home page, "How to get there" page, a special event page, and a couple of product pages. Up next is learning how to embed our Movie Maker movies or Prezis, and how to create our links page which will direct our customers to other web pages that would be of interest to our customers. Of course, first there will be quite a bit of research to do to determine which sites would make sense to include.

  1. That's a great idea. I hadn't thought about using Publisher for websites for my elementary students. I am a computer lab teacher and want to introduce 3rd graders to websites next year. Please continue to blog about this. Thank you so much.
