Today, we spent most of our time discussing a growing problem for young people, the issue of Cyber Bullying. Actually, we discussed the issue of bullying, in general, and, additionally, the issue of Cyber Bullying. Our word of the day was EMPATHY. Of course, empathy is being able to put yourself in another person's place - being able to understand how they might feel. If only everyone could empathize with one another. Certainly, we would, all, be much kinder, and much less likely to hurt others.
Additionally, we discussed how much more hurtful the internet can be when bullying, including the fact that so many people can see the unkind remark, and the idea that it doesn't go away. It hurts over and over, again.
